Snapped Studs on 13bt turbo water line

Exclamation Snapped Studs on 13bt turbo water line

Has anyone had any luck removing these studs?
any advise would be much appreciated

You're in the clear man. With half the stud sticking out just grab it with a vice grip and twist it out.

Normally the double nut method or a stud extractor is preferred, but with how uneven that broke I'd just just to vice grips. Soak them in PB for a day or two and go for it.

thanks for the advise Dan, the problem i face is there is not much room to get a decent turn on the stud, unless i remove power steering line etc..
I will weld a nut on tonight and hope to get it out that way without another break.

Welding a nut on will probably work as you'll be heating up the aluminum also, just don't let it cool too long or you'll still fight it

I've gotten some of those out with some funky angles on vice grips, as long as you get a good bite and can jar it loose. Then after a few meticulous twists and repositions you can usually get it by hand

thanks for the responses.

I managed to get one with the vice grip and surgically welded the nut back on the other one and got that off too.
they were not as tight as i thought they were going to be.

very good result!
