Smoke on start up?
Smoke on start up?
I just had my car do something really weird today. Lets start my telling you I have an 89 N/A GTU and I steamcleaned my engine by using the gallon of distilled water and now my car had one hell of a smoke attack when I started it up. To be exact I came home from work and drove it casually, I parked it for 1 hour then went to drive it again and it had the biggest white continuous cloud of smoke for about 1 minute. What might this mean?

Steam cleaners will get all kinds of water into the electrical system.
After the car dried out, did it run fine? If so then it was likely just a moisture issue.

When I said I steamcleaned the engin I mean I unpluged the vacuume hose and diped it into a galon of water and let it suck it threw and steam cleaned the interior of the engin. And again today it had a hell of a smoke display, It went from blue initially to hella thick white for about 3 minutes. .....sounds like i messed up the car, however after like 5 minutes it runs w/o smoke and has smooth sounding power
