Smoke coming from speaker

my car will not start, its freezing outside, i crank it over and i get clicks form the starter and sometimes it will try and crank but barely, i try and deflood and then try and start her up again i get one or 2 solid puffs of compression the clicks and what seems to be a dead battery but its not the battery seems like something within ignition, and for the smoke it cokes from the driver side speaker tower but from around the sides the not the speaker.. why would i get smoke from continuing to try to crank?

Drivers side speaker tower? Are you talking about the left rear speaker?

yes, the speaker tower behind the drivers seat, but i took it apart and the smoke is actually coming from somewhere else its seeping through the side carpet molding and the metal of the tower so it looks like it was coming from the speakers, i dont understand why when u crank ur car over and over u get smoke? could it be my starter smoking and its just coming up through and emitting there? hooked car up to jumper cables still would not start

Fuel pump. It's located on that side under the carpet.
