I’ve got an 86 FC that I picked up after sitting for 27 years! (Last registered in 98). I did get it running and it does actually run pretty well, I’ve done everything with the fuel system, plugs and wires, and just about everything else to get it running, but….. the issue. After it’s been running for a minute or two it starts to smoke from the area above the header I think or just the area around the header. But I’m not sure what it is, so if you’ve got any helpful suggestions or anything else I should do because it’s been sitting so long, but thank you all so much!

 

Congrats on getting yours running! I've been having a similar battle with getting mine to run. But I've seen the same with the smoke coming from the header. I tried to smell mine to see if it was a mouse nest, leaves or cobwebs, but cant pinpoint exactly what. That was my assumption though.
Just keep that fire extinguisher nearby though. JUST---incase.
