SMog trick ?

some one pm'd and tould me to try this ...

try this..........take the tube that goes from the cat to the motor(the one that works the 6ports) and use a hose to connect it to the back of the airpump, there is a hose already connected if it is stock. It blows air as long as the airpump is spinning! Use black hose so it wont be seen. If it was already close before, it WILL pass this way.

so if disconnect my hose from the back at the 02 pipe and disconnect the pipe from the air pump and get another pipe that connects those to. will the car still run right? idle properly? i know it won't be able to hit my aux. ports but that doesn't matter.. for smog... also long as it passes.

Doesn't the air pump already feed air into the cat? not sure that this would do anything but dissable the aux ports

You can also modify( stack with washers) or remove the Switching Valve poppet inside of the ACV so that the Air Pump air will always be directed to the exhaust ports, it achieves the same thing but retains the ACV configuration, it looks completely stock with no obvious modifications.

There are a couple threads on this around here, I made a thread about emissions, the air pump and ACV a few days ago actually - Reinstalling ACV - Please Check Vacuum Line Routing and Solenoid Selection

My thread shows the ACV with the Switching Valve removed.
