Smallest Wheel on FC?

Car: 1987 Turbo II

Utilizing the factory calipers/rotors, what is the smallest diameter wheel that can be fitted? OEM uses 16", but for the cost of tires, is a 15" possible? I am planning on running a "black steelie" setup for race, and I think a 15" would be perfect.

Thanks!

15's would be no problem, the turbo II rotors/calipers are the same as were used on NA GXLs, Sport package, and GTU/GTUs, most of which came with 15x6, +40mm rims standard. Why steelies though? Lighter is always better.

OEM convertible wheels are 15", and the same front and rear brake setups were used.

Thanks for the info!

And not necessarily steel, just this general style:

Any recommendations? Looking to fit at least a 275-sized tire up front and leaning towards a 315 rear. Was looking at "widebody" kits but can only find one to my fancy and $2k for just the pieces is a little astronomical to me. Anyone know where I can locate riveted on fender "flares" for tires this size?

Thanks!

Thanks for your input; I tried searching but came up empty-handed.

Not all wide fenders will put you out 2k. You may like these, they are pretty common.

Oh believe me, I've looked all over for almost a year for the perfect look. I know the EXACT ones I want... It's just going to cost an arm and a leg.

The "Bushwhacker" look is just going to be much cheaper and considering the car is a track car... Why not? It looks like my best option is the fenders from the old 240Z's and trim to fit. Wish there was some out there specific to the FC.
