Small Leak at Tranny Weep Hole?

For the last 3 months I have noticed a small, dime size drop of oil on the garage floor every morning when I leave for work. I use my 89 GTU as my daily ride. I recently changed the tranny and diff oil and was looking under the car to try to find the leak. It wasn't coming from the oil filter or drain plug, it appears to be coming from a small 1/8" diameter hole on the rear facing side of the tranny bell housing on the left , drivers side. This is the only oil leak I've got and I guess I should be thankful I don't have more but was wondering if anyone has noticed this and might know what it indicates.

Anyone seen this weep or drain hole on the driver's side of the tranny about 12" in front of the tranny drain plug? I've looked at the FSM diagrams and they do not show this drain hole or mention anything concerning a small amount of tranny oil coming out.

There are several weep holes in the transmission, but I cannot picture the one you speak of directly.

Do you know what fluid is dripping? Gear oil has a distinct smell compared to engine oil.

If it is coming from the bellhousing, it will either be the engine rear main seal, or the transmission front seal. Either way, FIX IT NOW before it destroys your clutch assembly.

Thanks AC, I'll attend to both seals right away. I am running Royal Purple synoil in the engine. just changed in the last 3 weeks, and RP gear oil in the tranny, just changed this past weekend. I really can't say it looks like either of those, it is really black a looks like old oil that's been in use for quite awhile. I'll check it this weekend just to make sure.
