Slow Headlight motor. -searched

hey i dont really have a problem, but more of an annoyance. the Drivers side pop up headlight is noticeably slower than the pass side. it also makes a slight noise when going down. i have a video i just recorded today.

the car had a Slight hit in the drivers side fender, nothing major. could that have thrown the alignment off or is the motor just going bad?

thanks.

a slight hit in the drivers side fender? how slight?

if it had enough force it could have bent something in the actual housing part that holds the headlight. i used to have a slow passenger side headlight but the previous owner(s) got into some sort of accident so the housing was bent and it sat lower.

does the light line up with the fender, hood, and bumper just fine?

if not you might have to take it out and see if anything is bent.

thanks man, when i got the car it had the replacement fender on it, but the PO gave me the original silver fender also, so i know the damage isnt too bad. the drivers side light cover sits maybe 1/8 inch higher than the bumper and fender thanks for the response.

i also recommend lubing all the pivot point of the housing assembly.

it could also be caused by poor wiring to the motor. id check the wiring to make sure. if thats good, then the assembly may be bent somewhere. actuate it by hand (via the small white "****" on the bottom of the motor and listen to hear if it kinks or rubs anywhere.

I had the same problem. The connectors to the motor were corroded. I cleaned them up and now it works quite well.
