you have a 3.9 rear end and your auxillary ports aren't working

but seriously, is your car an automatic?

Check to make sure your ports are working, and check your fuel pressure. There are several factors that could be contributing to this.

the flux capacitor isn't properly functioning =D

that could be the problem, horsepower in a rotary increases exponentially as you get to the higher rpm range.

4k? Man my powerband starts at 3k.. but I am without the 5th and 6th ports... You do know that these cars will pull clean to 7k without sweating right?

At around 4k you have intake ports opening and secondary injectors coming on, thats where the fun begins. Drive it harder plain and simple.

Seriously, who shifts at 4000 RPM when they're rippin it.

Before asking whats wrong with your car, ask whats wrong with your driving.

Dude, you probably have like 80 hp at 4k. I think peak power, at least in an S4, is somewhere around 6800 RPM. Don't be scared to hear that beep

buy a t2 and shift @ 7k. I would if i wasn't hitting fuel cut...at 4k is right about when my t2 starts to rellay pull hard. Your aux ports open at like 3800 (i believe) which is where the fun begins, as well as those happy sec injectors. More fuel and more air = fun.

Spark plugs, wires, oil change, fuel filter and the filter in the tank (sock filter), H2o trick, air filter, injector cleaner or send them off to be cleaned and flow tested, also make sure the port actuators are working well..
