Well, you know when you are cruising along, and you can feel the slop between putting power to the wheels, and engine breaking? Well this is very excessive. 1991 na. Anything I can look for specifically? Just driving is a pain because I know this is there, and have to drive in a very specific manor to get anywhere, otherwise just cruising, and stuff you will be jerking back and fourth. Any ideas? Thanks...later

No, the engine runs smooth as ever. You know, the slop in the drive line and the momentum of the car itself just make it do this. Picture this. Engine off, e-shaft locked in place. Slop in the system allows the car to have several inches of travel just from the slop in the driveline. Where/what should I do/check first to tighten it all up?

It's just the sum of all drive line backlash.
Just in case - check for a broken engine mount, front diff mount.
An engine torque brace will limit it some.
When driving in slow traffic, you sometimes need to release the clutch to smooth the transition from deceleration to light acceleration.
(I call that limousine driving.)
