slight problem need help
hey i have an issue with my 90 GTU (Atuo) with 73,XXX.
I just recently bought the car that sat for about 2 months the previous owner could not get it to start which i found out it was flooded and severely.
So i deflooded the motor it fired right up, new plugs, new coils, wires, and battery.
After letting it run the rps dropped to about 550 then it sputtered and died again.
I finally got it to run again and stay idling around 750, but when i put if in drive the rpms drop to 550 or lower and the car sputters a bit, i put it back in park and the rpms go 750-1000.
In park and neutral i can give it gas and the rpms with go all the way to redline with a slight hesitation around initial throttle engage.
But in gear (reverse, drive, etc) once i give it throttle the motor begins to sputter then eventually stall, unless the rpms are high around 3k but it eventually will drop down and stall.
I am thinking it may be the injectors along with he fuel pump and or possibly a vacuum leak but the engine light does not come on. or a coolent seal, the apex seals seem fine at the moment.
I really need help with this, and i am not giving up
thanks

Hello there,I am not sure what is causing your problem,But revving your engine to red line under no load is not a real great idea. And It won't fix your problem.Try doing a search.Try checking for leaks and dirty fluid. It also could be a faulty neutral safety switch?Faulty torque converter?I am just guessing. This site is great, someone here can help.I am not real sure if a large proportion of us drive automatics though. If you need a auto trans. i have one.If I actually search and find something I'll let you know.Good Luck!!
thanks for the reply, yeah i know redlining wasn't one of my best options but i was just curious, it seems to be a vacuum leak but as of now i am just having a problem locating it, all of the hoses look and feel fine.
I got it to actually drive for a bit but it had initial throttle hesitation and i made it second gear then decided to shut it down because i don't want to cause any significant damage to the motor, hopefully i haven't a ready.
Yeah i know the auto trans is not prime choice but i had to get this car for the price and the low mileage, it's in well condition, i just need to find a solution to this problem so i can actually share this 7 with the world and not just the field it's resting in.

also the rpms begin to drop and car stalls in gear when i turn the AC on but works fine while in neutral or park, and or if i turn the wheel completely to either left or right it also stalls.
I did some searching for that an all i found was check the AFM, TPS, and BAC.
I hope this helps.
