Sleeves wont actuate
I have an 89 GTU S5 and the damn sleeveswont actuate. I have narrowed it down to the electricals...good word hugh... The solinoid wont actuate for the 5th and 6th ports because it is not getting any signal can someone help?

I guess the next step would be to check for a 12v potential across the plug and see what's happening when you rev the car. If you are getting the signal you're witching solenoid is bad

ok here is something wierd...i wired a light to the plug and revedthe damn thing up to 6 and the light never came on... im thinking i need to check the whole wiring harness all the way to the computer...i mean if i get this thing working i will have a lot more power at hand.

Did you go for a drive or just rev it in neutral? The ECU needs to see some load on the engine before the auxiliary ports are opened.

I did the same thing... I sat there and rev'ed the engine an nothing happened...
1. I then put some test leads in to the plug that goes to the solenoid valve and put my multi-meter on the dash... I closed the hood softly and took of like a bat out of hell... Sure enough it kicked up about 14 volts at about 3800 rpm...
2. To test the actuators, I pulled the 2 hoses off of the valve and joined them... I rev'ed the engine at the throttle body and watched them open...
3. To test the valve I just hooked voltage straight to it while trying to blow through it... Easy..
