Quick and easy question....

is there a way to have the "sleepy eye" look but when u turn your lights on they come all the way up. When u turn them off they go back to the "sleepy eye" look.

is there anyway to do that?

lol wow I was just wondering the same thing cuz I just baught HID Angel Eye's so that they have daytime running lights....

I was thinking of shortening mechanism (I don't actually know what there atm) in which makes them go up a certain amount (There was a post about shortening pins I think it was to make it so it won't go any higher than sleepy eyes) and moving the starting point up.

 

get/make a controller. if you shortened the arms then they wouldnt open all the way. why you would do this in the first place is another question

no thats the other way around I want them FULLY open and to close 3/4 of the way... I dont want them to only open 3/4 of the way..

I am not sure if I will like it I am just curious after talking to a friend about it.

 

hey guys,
here is what i have found to do with pop ups.
Step 1.-Pull out the retractor fuse
Step 2- Buy spade connectors that will fit onto the fuse panel where the retractor fuse came out
Step 3. Buy a switch, an inline fuse holder, and an inline fuse the same amperage as the retractor fuse.
Step 4-run wires to each side of the retractor fuse, install inline fuse holder on one of the wires. Run the wires to a switch inside the car.

That way if the switch is in the on position, the headlights will go up and down with the switch like normal. In order to sleepy eye them as far as you want, turn the switch off, turn the headlights on, then rapidly flip the switch on and off until you get them to the desired position. Very simple and easy.

you understand im saying to wire a momentary toggle into the retractor circuit right, not switch the headlight switch up and down? also that way you can run them through the FTP lenses like everyone is always talking about I have it done on my car and a couple previous cars.

if you do that in cab switch, wouldn't there be a way to hook up a switch that limits voltage or something? Slows down the speed of the headlight motor...?

 

i had a momentary switch wired in a while ago, while my car still ran, and it worked great. cost about $15 and every thing is avalible at home depo or rona.

 

how many amps is the retractor fuse?

 

isn't there a **** you can turn and adjust the headlight level?

Yes and no.. It works as long as you don't touch the switch... soon as you touch the switch, it resets it.

The **** just turns the motor... so, soon as the motor is actuated, it knows where to start/stop.

i actually did what IMPORTRACER689 suggested today on my fc, only i mounted the switch inside right above the hood pop thingy, and it works great. and it only cost 3 bucks for the switch and 5 bucks for the 14 gauge wire at pepboys. but as far as having them 3/4 the way up and open up fully and return to 3/4 is gonna be a weird one to figure out. so it you want sleepy eye look a switch and some wire and male and female disconnects and your good to go. it only took me like 20 mins to do.

 

BTW pavementking89 reactor fuse is 30amps i believe

I have that. I bought it off of a forum member for like 20 or 30 dollars...

The directions were half correct for S4, and not correct at all for S5.. Its a complete PAIN IN THE *** to wire.

In retrospec what i should have done is just wire in a momentary switch to the retractor fuse. That works just about as good. And its about 4 dollars to buy all the stuff.

The unit is pretty slick though. you can basically set it to a certain angle, say 30 degrees and open your lights, and they open to that set amount. its pretty simple, its a conversation starter, but, no way is it worth the trouble and money.

Momentary switch FTW.

And yes nader, if you control the voltage you would also control how fast/slow they go up. Only problem is that they tend to not raise up at the same speed... so you get a really retarded look with one up, and one half up...

This is weird, I have never done it any way...

I Switch my headlights up *not with the lights on, the other switch that just brings them up* and then move the switch slowly towards the "down" position. When the headlights start to go down, move the switch back up ever so slightly, in between the "go up" and "go down" switches. that way the **** is stuck 1/2 way *not moving btw* and the headlights are 1/2 way down.
