Yay for the HDR lip.
Doesn't look to bad actually. If I were to do it I'd try to reinforce it a bit, but that's me.

Since this is on topic:

Some people are going to argue that the lights I have on there wouldn't be bright enough but, driving down the road, no one coming towards me would know that they aren't stock lights (brightness wise). I can also see pretty much as far as stock, I can def. tell this when I'm driving down I-10 (middle of nowhere,TX). And I passed inspection this way too. Elnots can vouch that they are plenty bright.
The motors are completely disconnected and the only wire are the power and ground for the lights. The empty area underneath the light and behind the empty FTP hole will be my air filter once I drill the hole, make some ducting and make the TID and intake tube for that. So, yes, my sleepy eye mod is slightly more functional than most people will think. (Plus my radiator support is bent to hell and the headlights wouldn't go up/down straight anymore )

i'd say. do 2 of those side by side and you've got a keeper. but the one kind of centerd looks a bit funny. but its a good start.

Oh that...I had an accident and I needed to replace the bumper, hood and headlights. I picked up all 3 pieces for about $150. So, I wasn't going to complain over some small dents I could fill in later if I cared enough. This is my daily/weekend racer. Purpose over form, for the most part.

And no, it wasn't a tow truck...it was a Camaro. I had muffler lines from the Camaro up to the hood scoop on the old hood.

EDIT: They're actually both centered. I tried to fit 2 on 1 lights but, they were to wide. I'm trimming the stock plastic surrounds to go around them to make them blend in a little better. Besides, it was cheaper to only have one per side and 2 weren't really necessary. Thanks though.

has anyone considered a conversion like 87rx7girl's but with the dual headlights side by side and a flat foglamp that would stay behind the ftp lens id like to see how that would turn out

Look, this was out of necessity (and partially cheapness). All I know is, they're bright, they work and they're getting replaced with something better as soon as I can afford it.

Here's a before pic if you care to compare:

87rx7girl, is your car flat black? If so, would you mind posting a few more shots of it during the day? If my car ends up needing paint, I might be going that route..

I guess I went the arrogant route with a Pivot RHU-M for $90 but I did custom wire it b/c it has a safety feature where they pop up automatically all the way when you turn the lights on, so I put a small toggle switch to the up motor wires to defeat that. And yeah I get made fun of for the sleepy eyes too, oh well I like it for some reason.
Anyway, what kind of bulbs do you have in there? They looked normal but maybe it's just the camera doing that. Xenon lights look great I think, not cause they're fake HID but they're not yellowish so it doesn't look as old. Plus 130W equivilant output is great, I got so used to it I have problems seeing road line in the winter beater when it rains, or maybe the Talon lights are just POS like the rest of the car seems to be, but AWD is nice for Michigan winters.

Here's a site on how to do the cheap pivit controller:
http://midnitetuners.com/HowTo/Pop-U...%20Controller/

the halos are awsome... I wonder if they can withstand the heat of H4 halogens...

EDIT: Link fixed

the real fiber halo's stand up to h1 85w and h7 120w in my car now, and other's have them and stand up to HID's 4300k so they can with stand any bulb.

These driving lights shown in this thread are not halo's they just have a ring molded into the glass cover.

Much of the wiring in this thread is just plain frightening. Pictures of unfused leads coming off the battery, electrical tape everywhere, crimp terminals jammed into fuse holders. This is the kind of stuff that will burn a car to the ground and it needs to be FIXED. Anyone using this thread as inspiration needs to follow proper wiring practices. This thread is not an example of those practices.

With me being an electrician for a living, some of these pictures make me shudder! Props to RX7girl for doing it herself, but please take the time to go back and properly wire everything. Your car will thank you for it!!

+1 bout the wiring, im not sure who's it was but one of the pics looked dangerous 0.o

also, rx7girl... why did you go through all that trouble and use such big lights? most people that change to dual projectors use the smaller ones n have them side by side on the top. that way you get full use of the lights @ night with having the light housing at half way.

the more I see this 'mod' , I realize that she must have watched ( and the other pics from a previous poster) the 03 round 2 D1 option video.. they do this exact mod, exactly the same.. even in the explination but on a 180SX( 240SX front end here).. a pretty basic DIY in Japan

Where did you get the halo's? The only ones I found were fake as in the glass was just that shape. Anyway, yeah I went Pivot but I still customized it by adding the switch and taking it apart. I covered it with electrical tape after removing the housing and put it under the stereo with the other switches so all you see is the **** for adjustment and a switch to stop the safety feature. I knew how to do the simple switch setup but even though knowing about electronics I didn't know how the stock system worked. So, with that I can set the dial to whatever and just turn them on and they will stay there, no trying to catch the right spot with a switch. But I'm sure you could reverse engineer one since there wasn't much too it. You just raise them and then when you lower them they stop where they are set. They're probably cheaper now, this was a few years ago.
I just catch flak for them every meet I go to, glad I'm not the only one that likes them, and yes I did see them first on a Silvia but not on a drifting show. What's really cool aside from sleepy eye though is having the lights on through the FTP's when in the city and just have lights so other people see you. Anybody know if that leads to overheating of the wires or bulbs though? I had a bulb go out and cook the wires too but it's probably just from running high wattage bulbs.

I have the RHU-M installed in my S5. You didnt wire it properly. The directions (NONE of them, the paper that comes with it, nor the internet directions) are incorrect. You have to use a test light, and **** with the wires...A LOT untill it works the way its supposed to. I got mine for 30 bucks, prolly spent 3 hours (it was at night..thats why it took a long time) getting it hooked up. In retrospect i wish i had done it the cheper way. works almost the same, just a little less control on where the lights stop comming up. And requires a tear down on the dash (and those of you with s5's know that those little plastic tabs break WAY too easy) .

I would like to do the dual headlight mod, with the halos, but id go the HID route, and get a pair of BMW halos, and custom fit those. The fiber optic ring looks 100x better IMO. Not to mention the HID rout with the BMW projectors get rid of a lot of scattered light that you get with the cheap fake halo bulbs, and the cheap HID kits a lot of people sell/buy...
