skittle update, some good news, some bad news
Well i have this little oil leak, well today when i was driving it to my dads it turned into a big leak, so i would say the bad news is that my engine bay is covered in oil.. but the good news is the parts are ordered.. but the really good news is i got 45 miles on it, i got the stereo installed, i did the kevin lander electric fan relay write up. and i did a compression test today and results follow as
Front rotor- 87-87-87
Rear rotor 90-90-90
cold and hot start are really good...

What parts did you order?
Also, use a torque wrench on the front hub bolt...there is a spec for it and I believe it is 95 ft lbs. You can rent it from Autozone if you don't have one.
Was that a hot compression test or cold?
Good to see the numbers are climbing!

im up to 55 miles on it, i still drove it with the leak, im waiting for parts from slow mazda, so tommarow, universal copper gasket and lots of RVT and she should have over 100 miles easily

I recommend either a medium impact on the front bolt for ~1-2 full seconds, or the locking plate that is found on some of the 89+ engines (more so remans than anything). I wouldn't trust a front pulley bolt otherwise. One of the first engines I ever built had the bolt come out shortly after startup because I used the FSM torque setting. Now I use the impact gun torque setting instead, and havent had a failure or leak since.
Use of the impact won't harm your endplay setting.

The endplay setting would be the main thing i was worried about affecting...
I torqued mine to 95 FT LB's, but i realized i didn't locktite it, so i have to pull it apart again..
Should i take the torque up higher? Or just use the impact? For some reason, i don't feel comfortable not knowing what the torque reading is it.. (probably because im so used to verifying torque readings, i work on helicopters)..
