Size variations for Convertible tires

Well, I shredded a tire on the way back from the Revolution, and I am learning (to my dismay) that there are no good performance tires available in our size. I love the convertible rims, so getting different wheels is not an option.

However, there is a tire I REALLY like in a 205/55WR15 (BF Goodrich KDW2). Will this cause any problems other than making my speedometer read low?

I did search, and I really didn't see anything on tire size variation on an FC stock rim, particularly a covertible.

if you are going to a 55, use a 215/55 or 225/55.

Personally use a 225/50-15 on my BBS wheels when racing

Unfortunately, the selection in a 215/55R15 or 225/55R15 is even more dismal than 205/60R15 and 215/60R15. The 225/50R15 is basically a wider edition of the 205/55R15 tire size I was hoping to fit (same diameter), which I have been told is too much smaller for road use.

I wonder what other people do with stock 15" FC's... I find two tires which are barely acceptable at best...

I was running B.F. Goodrich Comp T/A's... but they're not high enough performance. I was hoping to get a full summer performance tire... but nobody makes them.

No, I only have the roll bar that is built into the top assembly. It is stronger than anything aftermarket.

I did use the AVS dBs, but was very unhappy with them. They did not last for beans, chunked, and had poor linar adhesion. I use the Falkens now.

I like the AVS dB S2 tires alot in the stock size they are even S rated. They were cheap to buy so I thought they would not last long but they are holding up very well for me and I am not by any means easy on the tires. I am so happy with them that when I replace my tires I will by the same thing.

Yeah, I forgot that they are only a lame S tire.... too low of a rating for even highway driving.

I don't think it's too small for road use. I run my vert w/ 205/50-15. If I lower my car, I'm sure it's going to be too low.

But if you are lucky you can find BBS RK in 16'' or 17'' which makes your car looks like stock.

I currently run Yokohma AVS ES100's in a 205/55-15. I ran the same tire in an 215/60-15. The 215's barely fit. Like every Yoko I've ever seen, they track rain groves if the pressures are off. This was especially true of the 215's.

I am sorry I meant V (149mph) witch was the highest speed rating I could find in this size tire. I love these tires they even did well in autocross last weekend, I recommend the AVS dB S2 tires to anyone with our rim size.
