Sitting car.Rear apex seal Question
Hi,
I've heard that when an rx7 sits for a long time.about a year or so.The rear apex seal will usually blow when the car is ran.Is this true?Is there any way to avoid that problem?Because my rx7 has been sitting for about a year or more. Thanks for the help.

might get carbon lock w/ the oil seals but that can be solved. just be careful when you first start it and pay attention to how it runs. if you let it sit for long periods you need to take precautions so that the motor will stay in good shape

Not at all. My TII has already changed one motor, because the previous owner left the car for like 2 months without startig it up, and the motor just locked up. Next thing he knows, he had to buy a new engine (kudos for me ). Even my mazda/rx7 mechanic (which has years of experience working on sevens) told me to start the car for no more than 10 minutes every day if I'm not planning on going anywhere, just to keep the insides in good shape...

My 87se sat for ~2 years without being started (they tried, but were stupid, i guess). I did the ATF trick, and it started RIGHT up. You may want to try that before you start it..it can only help.
