Single exhaust = Flames? Why not dual?

Wait a minute, I just read that single exhaust will allow for flames, but dual won't! Is this true? I am running a Bonez race pipe(well, I just ordered it), and I am going to order a N1 dual. So, I can't throw flames w/ this setup? I have to get the N1 single?

I was able to spit flames with nothing more then my RB header and pre-silencer
I am still using the stock cat-back even so I am running dual

also if that still doesn't make you think you can spit with a dual setup here is a picture from someone off the forum

a TRUE dual exhaust(a pipe from each exhaust port to it's own muffler) would probably throw some flames if you had a few othere mods. But a ypipe is what kills your flames. I have seen a few rex's throw flames with Duel N1's; but all of which was either a good size porting or forced induction. So your answer in my opinion is no if you get a duel you won't throw flames.

You should see my 1stgen's flames!!!!

I have a '90 NA with a y-pipe and straight pipe that shoots flames fine . I don't think a y-pipe would have any effect on having them or not. It would only change the direction a little as opposed to having a single. The only thing I could think that will kill flames is the type of muffler(s). I have an HKS cat-back if it matters.

All of you guys that are shooting flames from NAs..... What mods have you done to your cars?

I am upgrading my exhaust in about two weeks, when the check gets to me and I wouldn't mind my car shooting some fire. Not sure what all I would have to do before I can start doing it though. Going w/ a RB dual exhaust header and straight pipes to mufflers.

all you really need to do is get rid of all you cats and ( this is for my N/A my be different for people with bigger injectors ) redline or get close to redline and be prepared to punk other people out. Its so funny to see the ricers faces after you do it to they go something like
