simplified vacuum system-what to do w/ nipples?

So, I am going to be putting a rebuilt in someday and using the minimum of vacuum lines.
One question I had is what to cap all the unused nipples w/? I have used rubber caps in the past and they were all cracked when I pulled my engine :-( I was thinking of just using loops of hose between pairs of unused nipples, but what about odd ones? Do they make sil. caps? Thanks, Ian.

Dont bother with silicone hose on a t2..it sucks. I just paid like $40 for hose put it on adn it lasted 5 minutes before it collapsed under idle vacuum. SO I went with regular rubber hose.

See my post, a few days old by now, search my username for "t2 mods ad pics, long post". I just removed ALL my stuff off my 87 t2, and I have pics up. http://hypntyz.rx7life.com/myturboII pics 30 and up.

To block off all the nipples on the now bare torhttle body/dynamic chamber, I flipped the spacer plate backwards. ONly one was left open, ad I capped it. Buy 5/32" vacuum caps at autozone or advance, theyre like $1 for 2.

Thanks Kevin. The hoses will not be silicone as I know that breaks down w/ oil/gas very easily and is soft enough to collapse. I have been eyeballing that teflon lined, stainless reinforced and sheathed hose that is common on AN stuff since it should resist heat and look great.
For the nipples I thought sil. might work as it can't collapse on the nipple and there should be no oily/gassy intake air/vacuum flowing through a dead end nipple.
Alas, I have adapted a modded 3rd gen upper intake and TB so and there is no simple solution like flipping the spacer to get rid of the ton of vacuum nipples on the TB.
I checked out your post a couple days ago and was impressed! I am going w/ a VERY simple engine bay w/ my Haltech install as well. Thanks, Ian.

I'd plug them up with a good dose of RTV and be done with it.
It's not pretty, but it works.

Do what I did. If you are not planing to ever use them again cut them off with a cutoff wheel or whatever then drill out the sleeve still in the manifold were the nipple was, then tap them and put small allen head plugs into them. You will never have to worry about rubber caps falling off or cracking.
