Silver box under dash?

K I am not to sure about a silver box that was under my driverside dash. It was bolted into a black holding rack with two nuts that screwed onto the screws that were on the box. The box has a wiring harness that plugs into it, that comes through my firewall just above the harness that leads to my main fuse, and my lights and horn. I believe it might be my engine harness that connects to this box? So is this silver box one of the above a)ecm, b)pcm, c)cruise control. I have heard that ismight be either of them. And could someone tell me where all of these are located also. Awesome thanks. O ya its a 86 gxl

Sorry, I don't have any more information to give you. If you're taking out the power steering, then I presume that the computer isn't needed. But about the wires, I have no answer to that. Both of my FCs didn't have that computer.
