Question A silly question.. but gotta ask!

I REALLY like the stripes down the center of some 7 cars I see. Most match the car - most don't. The one's that match, I adore.

I've been thinking. I need to go ahead and get my windows tinted anyway, what color would best look on my car? I'm not sure what would really look good with a cold/chamapign (sp) type color... So I am asking for your opinions...

I doubt you will get a straight answer, because I have never seen an RX7 with "racing" stripes. Oh wait, yes I have. Riced out bigger than ****. Put the couple hundred on an exhaust or intake or something that will make your car more fun to drive.

PLEASE don't put racing stripes on your car!!! That's for people who have no imagination and want to copy the lastest trends. Be original

I bought a TII hood when my N/A hood flew up. The hood is color matched to my car (Blaze Red) but it came w/ white stripes going over the TII scoop. It looks ok, but I can't wait to 1) have a FUNCTIONING scoop 2) have no stinkin stripes. I get compliments from ricers on the stripes, so I have this burning desire to be rid of them!!!!

No stripes please... Like someone else said, throw the money into mods rather than stripes. I can't think of any color that would go well with your champagne paint anyway.

I don't think your car is the right color to really make the stripes look good, so I would say "don't do it".

As far as following the latest trends, this ain't it. Do you recall the Shelby Mustangs and LeMans Ford GT40s from the '60s? That's where those stripes originated (or at least became famous). It's hardly a "trend" if it's been going on for 30+ years!"

I didn't put them on there, so don't yell at me. I kind of like them, but I don't like the stigma that goes along with them. I am hoping to get the car repainted soon (yes, I'm keeping the color-shift paint) and they'll be gone.

I had a stripe painted on mine about 6-7 years ago before it was popular with all the ricers. It still looks good but I wish it wasn't there now. The car is brilliant black with super white stripe so the contrast is extreme. My mother said it looks like a skunk. I've called it the skunk car ever since. My general point is don't stripe it. Put the money toward something else like exhaust, rims, better tires, etc...... Soon the stripe will be out of style and if its painted on your stuck with it.

Chris,

I know that they originated on the older 'stangs of late. However, when I say "trend", I meant the RICE trend. The racing stripes on the them ther old fords looked GOOD imo...but on a Honda civic?

Blah, Chevelle's/Camaro's of the late 60's early 70's looked the best with stripes, oh and the GTX and the roadrunner and the chargers (all of the same age period)
