Question silicone radiator hoses

I found a set of ebay silicone radiator hoses for like 50 bucks . My top hoses sprung a leak. So I need new ones.

Any body has bought these and have comments on them??

I've never used them but I'll say that there's nothing wrong with the regular hoses. Unless you're trying be showy I would suggest saving your money for other things... /shrug

There's a spot online 40 plus shipping for plain rubber hoses..

I'm getting 50 including shipping.but I'd rather hear from some one who used them before.

Good grief. Some of you children make me insane .

You can buy rubber hoses-model specific-I mean just walk into Autozone -for $18 plus tax FOR BOTH HOSES!

That's the way my Dad did it, that's the way I did it, BEFORE Al Gore invented the internet.

If you just INSIST, Autozone will ship them to you, charge you freight and sales tax.

Damn.

i don't recommend silicone radiator hoses on a car that you daily drive, you actually lose coolant very slowly through the silicone compared to the rubber.

on a race car where you check the coolant all the time? sure.

Well I know of several people whom use silicon radiator and heater hoses and none ever mentioned adding coolant. My friend with the WRX had Samco hoses though, and they are high quality. I think you should look up the high quality ones and compare them with the cheaper ones. I know the # of ply and thickness are pretty important, and maybe the purity of the silicone? idk, maybe you should be the guinea pig and report back to all of us in this thread and let us know how they do. ha. GL.
