Signs of water damaged ECU?
I had a water damaged ECU due to a leak in my door around Christmas. So I got a new one, and now after some heavy **** rain I got the same symptoms. This time I got the ECU out and dried it since I knew what was causing it, and it worked. Day after, same thing. So, I put it in the shower and blasted it hoping to get rid of the corrosion on some spots, and dried it in the oven on 50 degrees celcius for some hours.
Now, what I got of signs is limp mode, just like the OMP limp, but it is instant, not after a minute or two like the OMP one. Also, there are no error codes, only a constant light.
The duty solenoid is not ticking as far as I can hear, but with ign on, the injectors are spraying like crazy, I hear ticking from them constantly and the gas smell starts to come. I don't know if this happens in normal limp mode as well.
Anyone got input on this? Just got an Rtek 1.5 fitted due to bad OMP and insane OMP prices. Don't want my ECU to be dead already, so if there are any tips to what resistors or whatever that I can swap out, I'd be very happy!

The Water Treatment
IF you want to get rid of corrosion on a circuit board, do not use tap water. Tap water contains minerals the can cause further corrosion.
Rinse the board with deionized water several times.
Immerse the board in deionized water for a 10 minutes to couple of hours.
Scrub the circuit board very gently with a very soft brush.
Back to a fresh deionized water bath.
Scrub again.
Thoroughly rinse the board with denatured alcohol.
Immerse the board in fresh denatured alcohol for several minutes.
Remove the board from the alcohol bath, blow it dry with air or allow to air dry.
Now you can bake the board at bout 50*C.
This is exactly how you fix a water damaged Iphone. It's called 'The Water Treatment'.

Denatured alchohol, got another name, like scientific name, or what store sells it? There are no equivalents to that name in Norwegian, so the name is something else.
