Significance of rebuild??

I was wondering how significant a rebuild on a rotary engine (13bt) would improve its life? I'm looking at a TII to buy, and it had an engine rebuild about 15k miles ago, and has 116k on it. How could this rebuild matter on the life on the engine? Thanks.

Michael

I think if it only has 15K on it, it should be fine. But you should get papers and see if it came from a qualified rotary specialist. I would just do a compression check if you're not sure but at 15K, I wouldn't be too worried.

I bought my TII which has nearly 100K miles since the rebuild and the engine still runs strong. (But I might get it rebuilded next year when I start getting serious with mods.)

what was involved in the rebuild as well, some people reuse some stuff, that shouldn't be used. Details, it's all in the details.
