A sign of bad things to come?
ok well...this could be bad...
I am planning on doing my 3000 mile oil change today...well 3154 but close enough and i checked the oil like usual through the dipstick and there is this off-white puffy creamy **** on my dipstick. anyone have any idea what it is? is this a sign of something bad?
i have been searching for the thread but cant find it of someone rebuilding one and it looks similiar to one of their little problems. he used royal purple on the rotors, and didnt care cause he was switching to new bearings anyways....he had pictures of the stuff, then them soaking in it, then them after...anyone know what thread im talking about? if i can find that thread ill show you what the goo looks like...
is my car gonna stop working soon?

Former Moderator. RIP Icemark.
white creamy stuff is water mixed with oil...
Could be from condensation and not a worry (just drive the car so that it reaches normal operating temps and then for 20 minutes) or it could be a leaking seal, and then a rebuild is in your future.

well...this isnt the first time ive noticed it...one day when i was hosing my engine down (that would be where the water came from...) i checked my oil after and noticed it. i was using engine degreaser to clean it up a bit. so hopefully thats all it is. im draining my oil today so ill see if any of that crap comes out.
and no...my coolant is dropping. i did the coolant seal check by filling the coolant to the top and then running the car and there were no bubbles out of my rad cap. i actually didnt have to add any coolant as it was already at the top.

nice....id recommend doing the oil change and then checking the dipstick right away after a couple of drives....if you still have some foamy crud, change it again....
reason being is that if its just film of crap in there, a couple changes should clear it out - but if it is actually not a film (or something that got in when you washed the engine by) but an actual leaky seal or something.............two oil changes will not reduce the volume of crud/crap....so that should tell ya what you've got.
