Side Molding

What's the best way to re-stick the side molding on? Both of my sides are coming off

No disputing the tape idea completely but I have tried a couple of times to get mine to stick back on after a paint job and so far I'm not winning!

You don't mention what year your car is, but on my 91' there is an edge on the molding where the tape is supposed to go that is raised up in such away that it prevents thinner tape from actually making full and firm contact with the door.

I either need thicker tape or need to shave off the ridge that is on the molding (there to help align the tape, I think).

I'll echo Icemark's 3M tape comments. I tried repeatedly to stick the moulding on with other brands of tape that appeared to be the same. I finally used the 3M tape and it appears to be on for good. Don't mess around with the other junk, there is a difference, get the 3M stuff.

I have a bunch of that 3M stuff...I used it for extra support on certain places on my Corksport body kit. Its like superglue for your car. It'll definatly do the trick.

I used a razor blade very carefully as to not nic/scratch the paint... I also took off the little pin stripes that way as well. At first I tried some solvents for glue removal..very much a PITA.

on My S4 I went to the autoparts store and picked up a 2 part epoxy made for gluing trim back on. just get like 3 friends to help hold it in place for 5-10 min and your good. Also make sure the area is clean.

Worked great on my car anyways!

depending on what type of tape it is you could use hella hot water, steam or a dremel. well maybe not a dremel but it would be a lot of fun if you were feeling destructive, oh yeah and it was on a honda.
