well, thanks 88redconvertible. you seem to like my car. and thanks for everyone who i think is helping me reach my 160mph goal. it wil happen, even if my car blows up at 161mph. that is my goal, and hopefuly it will be achieved. i do not need to lie, the car spedo had read 145-ish whether that be 142-146, who knows, its just a few lines on the dash. i fly past the cop-stop speed checher radarsw that tell u your speed, and it is alwasy on the money, up to about 85-ish. then i had to stop cause the next day or so, there was a cop car inplace of the radar machine with the screen..lol. and im not sure with the aerodynimacs and all, but i have weighed the car and the **** i took out of the car as wel as the **** i put back in. in order to put the speaker box there, i had to remove at least 45lbs of meatl brackets for the spare tire alone. and the front end conversion...all the **** behind that is gone...another 80 lbs or so..every bracket every brace...diown to the bar that holds the relays, thats all that remains. as in if i get into an accident, im F'd. i took out more then i put back in, so im actually under the stock weight of like 3100. im prob laround 2800, im guessing. the coupe is around 2600lbs.
and i can hit 140 ANY day of the week WITH the top down, no prob. im not kidding. i even designed special gaskets to go between the doors and **** to stop wind from getting in the car past 120, which used to happen. now the doors dont even shake anymore past 130...they dont at all. i also designed special door stoppers to keep the doors secure becuase they USED to shake violently at 120 +. not anymore, not even at 145!!!

That is a fast 'vert!
For TII conversion you can just buy a running TII and swap it all over. Nothing else needed.

I would personally buy a dead engine TII, swap all drivetrain over on the strong running NA engine w/ a lightweight flywheel in the mix. You would get the benifits of strong trans, limited slip rear end, stronger axles and closer ratio transmission.

Then I would have a wicked NA 3 rotor built for that reliability you want, or just do a mild 300hp 2 rotor turbo w/ lots of reliability mods (what I have done). At my lesure, since car is running fine as is.

Cost for dead engine TII under $1000. My $1500 TII ran for a year (modded most of that) on a 150000 mile engine before I killed it w/ boost creep. Not much in the sceme of your project, I imagine.

SOMETIMES ITS SAD TO READ THROUGH ANY OF THE THREADS HERE. IT SUCKS THAT HIGHSCHOOLERS WHO HAVENT EVEN POSTED A PIC OF THEIR CAR ON THIS SITE CAN TALK SO MUCH ****. CHANCES ARE THEY ARE BROKE, GHETTO DWELLERS WHO RELY ON E-BAY TO PURCHASE EVERYHTING FOR THEIR RIDES. OBIOUSLY, IF I WANTED TO GET A CAR FOR SPEED, I WOULDNT HAVE CHOSEN A CONVERTIBLE. SOME PEOPLE ARE SO RETARTED BEYOND REPAIR. IF I WANTED THE FASTEST CAR IN THE RELM, I WOULD HAVE GOT A 3RD GEN, DUH. BUT SOME IMMATURE ******* HERE THINK THAT RX7'S ARE ONLY MEANT TO GO FAST, AND NOT LOOK NICE DOING SO. THATS WHY THEY ARE BECOMMING EXTINCT. IDIOT CHRILDREN GET A HOLD OF RX7'S AND DRIVE THEM INTO THE GROUND. THE CONVERTIBLE LOOKS A HELL LOT NICER THAN ANY COUPE EVER WILL. CHANCES ARE, I GET LAID MORE THAN THE FAT ***** IN HERE WHO ARE SO GODDAMN WORRIED ABOUT WEIGHT REDUCTION, THAN LOOKING NICE. GO ON, MAKE YOUR DAILY DRIVER A 1 SEAT, NO STEREO TURBOED
COUPE. I CAN ATLEAST LOOK NICE AFTER IM DONE RACING. IF THE TOOLS IN HERE WERENT SO IMMATURE
SOME TIMES, THEYD REALIZE THAT YOU CANT ALWAYS BE RACING YOUR CAR AROUND. MAYBE BECAUSE THEY ARE SO YOUNG AND HAVENT LOST THEIR LISCENSES YET, THEY HAVENT REALIZED THAT YET. GROW THE **** UP, AND REALIZE THIS IS AN RX7 FOURM WHERE PEOPLE WITH THE SAME INTERESTS MEET, NOT THE ******* 7-11 WHERE LITTLE HIGHSCHOOLERS HANG OUT. MY GOAL IS TO HAVE THE NICEST CONVERTIBLE AROUND, AND I HAVENT EVEN SEEN A DECENTLY DONE UP CONVERTIBLE PERIOD. MAYBE MY NEXT ONE WILL BE A TURBO, BUT FOR A COINVERTIBLE RX7, THERES NOTHING WRONG WITH THIS CAR...EXCEPT THE RIMS, PERHAPS. CRITISIM IS FINE, BUT WHEN PEOPLE SAY **** LIKE " YO SOMEONE STEP ON THAT SPOILER" IM WILLING BET THEY DONT EVEN HAVE AN RX7, THEY'RE CIVIC OWNERS JUST LOOKING FOR TROUBLE.

I'm gonna have to say that kit looks great on the vert, BUT I do agree that the rims and wing look like *** (no offense, but you said you can take it). But then again it's not my car so good job man...keep it up.

i didnt mean to attack everyone, but some people could be a little less brutal at times. theres nothing wrong with critisim, but there a lot of people who take it too far...my post wasnt meant to **** people off, just state my retort. i take some of it back.
and side skirts are on the way, the car is far from done, and like i said, someone show me a decent pair of rims. most of the nice multispoke allunimum rims only come in 17" and thats too big for my liking. what rims (since everyone here seems to know which rims belong and dont belong on a car) would fit my car as is?

Not to mention that it had the TII drivetrain. One of the nicest verts I have seen. Of course this is THE best on the road, period.

By the way, FC2000 kit is nice, lose the wing and toss those "fancy mexican rims that belong on a beat up Camaro" (pardon my biggotry).

How much do you want to spend? And what sizes(staggered sizes for front/back or what?)? If you just want some 16x7s then I'd go with some rotas. They are cheap and light and look good. Heres the ones I like.

In a way, I do kind of agree with you. There is a lot of negativity and flaming on this forum. And a lot of it is done by people that don't even own 7's, or who's cars are made up of pieced together junk-yard scraps. The amount of beat up and run-down 7's far outnumbers the well maintained clean looking ones.

And while I don't like all of the cosmetic things you've done to your car, I can at least respect the work and $$$ that's gone into it.

Nice car. If you want my opinion, lose the ghetto wheels and change the wing. If you don't want my opinion, enjoy.
I think that car would be ultimately sick w/a 3-rotor and about 7psi. Should be more power than you would ever need and you wouldn't have to rebuild all the time.
BTW: RELAX!! They're just opinions. No need to get all worked up about it. These are some of the coolest cars ever made and people take them very personally. Getting pissed off just lowers you to the level of the people you're pissed off at. Keep your sense of humor and leave the all-caps postings for AOL chat rooms where they belong.

What you need to do is find a wrecked, or clapped out 89-91 TurboII. The best way to do the TurboII conversion is to start with anouther TurboII donor car that has most of the parts. Realistically you should be able to find a good donor canidate for like $2k. Being that you need a series 5 (89-91) car is might make it a little harder to find a donor.

You'll also want to put the TurboII suspension, brakes, hubs, etc on your car as they are a good upgrade, and also 5-lug...

Don't go buy nice rims if you want to do the TurboII swap, becuase the lug pattern is different with the TurboII's.

Personally I don't like the Mode 6 wing without the widebody kit. I really don't like the wing, but it works well with the rest of the kit-

Dude, I'm running TSW 17's on my TII.

Just get 45's and you'll be fine. One hell of a harsh ride though!!! But that's my suspension...

Check out the search function. You can bet that almost any question you have has been asked before. I did a search for "wheel size" and found this thread. You might find some useful info from people who have tried some different wheel sizes...
https://www.rx7club.com/forum/showth...ght=wheel+size

Personally I like 16s, but that might just be because the roads here kinda suck...

what about something like the new corvette has for rims, the thin 5 star pattern, think those would look cool? 16 or 17.
