1.where can i get intereior parts for my 86 gxl i ve checked junkyards afor the lining that goes around the cd player and holds the lighter?

im planning on selling it for about 1700 (bought it for 1000) put about 2800 into it maybe more. but that was like clucth brakes rotors cat,
and a few extras i dont remember. oh yes and almost 900 dollars on a decent sound sytem.but my car still idels like crap on first start up and is kinda sticky on the shifting...

Is it me or is this car becoming a money pit?

Well i shouldn't be talking right now or you can just count it as a middle vote if there is such thing. But i have spend almost a 3 to 4 of my weekend trying to get the car to stop leaking oil. But everytime i think i fix it it leaks even harder. I am not a dumb *** so i know i am doing the work right. But there the same car just leaking like it never leak before. ANd now my OMP is leaking too so i have to run premix. I just don't know much more i can deal with before i burn this damn car to the ground. But than again i am sure if i were to fix these oil leak it shouldn't again. SHould i sell my car?? BUt i am going to say this and i mean it. I believe that the 7 is one of the best handling car i have ever owned and driven. ALthough i haven't own that many car but i don't want any other cars out there. Thats including the new supra z300 or 350. I know that doesn't help but i need to vent bad!

The Z would be more $, but would perform better in every way. Mantanace in general would be more, but it would be for "more" car.

Get the TTz if you can. You will fall in love with it. Amazing vehicle.

Of yeah, my GF has a 300z TT. Very modified and very fun to drive. I trade working on it for being able to drive it whenever I want. It's a very good deal.

Ya the seven can be a money pit..but so can a TTz. Especially since those engines are a pain in the *** to work on. I used to own an 86 300zx n/a and i didn't wanna do anything cuz it was so damn hard to work on that engine. The twin-turbo models are even worse from what i gather.
Anyway, not all seven's are severly problematic. The one i managed to find is in surprisingly amazing condition. Nothings broke, and it used to leak oil but doesn't seem to anymore (im not gonna complain about miracles...).
I guess wat im trying to say is that if this car is a lemon then get rid of it. Just don't buy a lemon TTz cuz u'll be posting this same thread on a 300zx forum somewhere

"Of course were all going to be biased towards the choice... but remember, it's your car, it's your money, do what you want man. I say keep the 7, than again i've had 4 mazda's and will probly never own a different vehicle.. other than a motorbike.... good luck what ever you choose,.

If you did follow my mind set which you probably don't if there is ANY question about keeping an RX-7 or not you are not a TRUE enthusiast. I voted NO because I would not. But if you have doubt let it go to someone better.

I bought an 89 RX7 GTU that had been sitting for 3 years.
I then let it sit for another 3 years, battery whent dead
so That was the first thing to replace when I decided to
start driving it about 3 months ago.

Then I had to put brakes on it, an O2 Sensor,
Clutch, TPS now the Drive Shaft is clanking.

When I first bought it I replaced the A/C, had it tuned up,
2 new tires, and painted.

I bought it for $1000.00 & have put about 2600.00 into it. If I'd sell it I'd expect to get about 2500.00 for it. If I
could get 2500.00 I'd sell it and buy something brand new
that gets good gas milage and doesn't need constant maintenance. I'm tiered of costantly having problems on
a car that people don't like to work on, and I don't have
the time to deal with this @#&%. If I want a constant pain
in the @$$ I'd call my Ex girl friend and ask her out.
