Should I reuse these rotors?

Came out of an 87 turbo block.

Uploaded with ImageShack.us

Both rotors seem to have moderate chipping and/or pitting on one or two apex seal grooves and pitting on the rotor faces. I'm probably not going to use them, but I just want a second opinion. The sides of the rotors are fine.

Thanks.

The first pic...is it just shaded/bad pic...or is the groove actually jagged?

I'd make a clock out of them either way.

They look like they were left in someones yard for a year.

I would never put those in an engine.

Rule of thumb, if you have to ask about if it's a good rotor, the answer is no. Less than perfect is not re-usable.

Yeah it's pretty bad.

Alright. Just had to get a second opinion on these. I haven't rebuilt a motor before and had been searching the forum for similar threads, but most of them were old and the pictures weren't loading anymore.

Looks like i'll be using these as door stoppers lol.

Thanks guys.

YEARGH! holy pits of despair, Batman! the rotor that locked my motor looked far better than those, and it was still garbage.

the pitting on the rotor face is really weird, i'd skip that one. the other with the pitted groove could be used, goopy performance sells an oversize apex seal and a tool to fix the groove.

It's from sitting water, extreme corrosion. Either the rotors were not stored properly or they were in an engine that wasn't stored properly. A running engine will never do that to its rotors.

Please don't use your worn out rotor. Waste of time and money.

Those look good but replace the bearings.. Also only way to really check is checking the clearances.. once it passed visual inspection.

Much, much, MUCH better condition than the ones that look like sidewalk concrete.

Are the bearings like that from the cleaning or did they come out of the motor like that?

Those dogs looks familiar! The bearing clearance was enlarged. They came out of the engine like that.
