Should I rebuild my engine??
There is absolutly nothing wrong with it.
Still has power, idles perfect, 1q oil every 3k, no drips, passed emissions, clutch good, no flooding.
Everything seems perfect.
142k original miles.
Should I?? Or should I wait till it pops?
BTW I have time cause its off the road, winterized, soaking in ATF.

I tend to agree with Ted... but, think about it a bit....
A T2 with 142,000 miles on the stock block and still running not necessarily a common find. It will probably go, eventually... when it goes, it will probably take a rotor housing with it....
if you do it now, you won't have to replace any housings... but if you wait for it to pop (hell, it might not pop), you will most likely be spending a lot of casholla.

depends on your funds...if you have the Saab as the daily driver...and you're saving some money on the side for the T2...i'd wait and use it for what its worth...and when the time comes you'll have extra money for new housings...
who knows...maybe you'll never "really" notice any difference between new and used housings...but maybe it would be better peace of mind knowing you have all new components to the engine...
i'm sure you'll be fine for a while though...after a nice ATF soak...and the fact that it idles fine...doesn't flood, and revs up great should be a sign you'll have lots of fun with it before the time comes

Sweet! Its just that I have been seeing a bunch of people in this forum with motors poping within the last few weeks;
But I guess people came to the forum when they expirience problems.
I think i'll let it pop, shouldnt take too long with a dp and presilencer.
Speaking of poping, anybuddy wanna take a stab at the HUGE whitehead under my left eye? (See avatar)
