Seats

I was planning on replacing my stock TII seats with a bucket seat/harness combination, but I wanted to see if any of you guys had good/bad experiences with certain brands of seats. I'm really interested in the Tenzo R rally seats, but my absoluite TOP most important priority right now is leg room. I'm 6'1" and pretty long in the legs, so even if I skooch all the way back in the seat and sit perfectly upright, I have little leg room that makes driving difficult(ie: heel-toe shifting, left foot braking, my knees clearing the steering wheel at sometimes). Am I going to lose leg room with new seats? Any suggestions?

Don't go with Corbeaus Targa Rs. they are much taller than the stock units and do rob of some room. Maybe if you call them they could make a seat with more butt room. the Tenzo would be a good choice because it's got a pretty deep bucket. Although the Corbeau is an incredibly comfortable seat. Any seat that requires a aftermarket bracket might raise the height of the seat and rob of room. Consider reupholstering the stock seat and maybe adding some neck holes for a harness. it would probably cost the same as an aftermarket seat.

I've haven't done it myself, but I've seen plenty of cars with aftermarket seats fitted with custom rails to mount the seat closer to the floor. These type of seats tend to be thinner in the base too, which also helps. This'll give you more clearance between the steering wheel and your legs, and the roof and your noggin. Much better for wearing a helmet! I'm also 6'1" so can sympathise.
