Should i install the FCD or not???Need Advise
Greetings from Greece.
I own a FC3S Turbo II Convertible S5.
I have just bought a motoria turbo back 80mm exhaust, a greddy air intake and a HKS FCD.
My car is complete stock (except a Blitz SS BOV).
If i install the exhaust and the air intake (i will make the TID+CAB conversion) i will gain some extra boost (+4psi),right??? Is this safe for my current setup??? Should i install the FCD also???
Do i need bigger secondaries???720cc maybe???
I read in a thread that the FCD is not safe if your fuel system (injectors, pump) is stock.
Is this right???
Does the FCD make my fuel mixture more lean???
Please help...

You need to install the FCD.
However and more importantly, you need to port your wastegate and upgrade the fuel system. Larger pump, 720 (or 680) secondaries and something to control them.

ok i have hks intake hks 3'' d/p to 3'' no cats to hks hi power carbon ti. Yes it will raise your boost!!! but if you install your fcd you will NOT have fuel up in the high revs and you will blow your motor. I installed a Sclincer on my exhaust and it dropped about 2 to 3 lbsa of boost so i'm not hitting my fuel cut anymore. But If you do want to install this get a S-afc so u can tune it so you wont blow your motor. I;m just waiting for my boost controller then i can go install the fcd boost control and the s-afc but just be careful

You help was so essential!!!!
IF install just the exhaust (its 80mm... a litle more than 3 inches) would i have the same problem??Do i need the extra fuel then???
Can just the exhuast make me hit fuel cut???

Can i only use 720cc secondaries and a walbro fuel pump in order to increasing fuelling???
Here in Greece its really hard to find a tuner for the safc or any other engine management system. All my friends with PowerFC have called a tuner from Cyprus to tune the cars.
Are there any other plug and play ECUs for my car and the boost level that i will reach with my mods???

i have the ssac/motoria exhaust system 3" turbo back, it raised boost and power a lot, then i blew my engine (my fault, pressure sensor unhooked at 150 mph causing detonation). i think you will hit boost cut even in first gear where the wastegate probably doesn't usually open a lot (lower engine load). i say install your exhaust and intake and fcd and just keep an eye on everything via an air/fuel ratio gauge and maybe a boost gauge. i think the factory fuel system is sufficient for those mods if you re-wire the fuel pump. and run under like 10 psi. port your wastegate to solve boost creep problems (i had crazy boost creep, but i have stock s4 style wastegate unported).
btw, doesn't the safc have a/f ratio and boost pressure readings on it?
also, check out the megasquirt ecu (standalone for similar price )

The megasquirt ECU???
Is this a brand???
Can i just buy a boost controller and set it at the maximum boost that my fuel is enough ( 10 psi i think, right???)

S5s (89+) have a lot less of a problem with boost creep due to a much larger wastegate then the truly pathetic wastegate in the S5. So you may find that with just an exhaust upgrade you are fine.
Just running 720CC secondaries will make the car run very rich after they switch on, basically killing power. You need something to tune them down (like the S-AFC).
Boost controllers CANNOT LOWER BOOST PAST WHAT THE WASTEGATE WILL NATURALLY ACHIEVE. That means that if you are hitting 10 PSI without the boost controller, your minimum boost with the controller is 10 PSI.
A Megasquirt is a standalone EMS system.
