should i get a compression test?

my engine is running fine right now, and everything seems pretty good... but i was wondering, is it worth getting a compression test anyway? could it give any indications on future problems, etc..?

and if i do get one done, what numbers should i be looking for? my car is an 88 gx, with 180xxx kms, everything is stock...

Just go buy a compression gauge. IIRC dealers want like 80-120$ just to do a test. Gauges are like 20$ at most.
