Arrow Should i get this car?

I have the opportunity go aquire (for free hopefully or mabye cheap) a 88 (i think) 5spd convertable rx-7

i hope to make it into a fun and competitive track car... should i go for the convertable and try to put a roll cage and chassis stiffening on it or should i look elsewhere?

does anyone have a link / price for a roll cage?

any opinions? should i get it? yes? no?

well, a convertable is heavy, but if you stripped the top+motors, it would be lighter, then put in a a roll cage. If you kept the top+motors i think you would be slow.

If you are looking for a track type car, a vert is too heavy.

I would look out for an 88 GTU, as it's got the big brakes, lsd, no power junk, and I belive it's a hard top.

Basicly any coupe fc with the 4 piston brakes, and manual trans will make a great track platform.

Good luck

Normally i'd be the first to say get the 'vert, but since you have specified that you would be racing it, I would agree w/ the above. The vert just isn't a race car, not without some serious modification.
