Should i get the ... or the ...

Well, next month it will begin... here's my story as short as i can make it

I've got my car, 1986 Gxl.. runs great, rebuilt engine, tranny, new clutch, she's the love of my life... really. Next month i am going to begin my N/a to turbo swap, obviously i am not going to use my motor for this, because it runs great. i am however going to use this chassis as the 'project' car.. here's my dilema, I've found an awesome 1988 jet black vert.. perfect in everyway, 101,000 on the engine, 5 speed A/C new top ect..ect.. 3200$... but than that leaves me with the extra motor from my car... i also found a perfectly good 1st gen : new rims/tires, upgraded suspension, turbo transmission/4:30 rear end and a great interior ... NO MOTOR for 1100$ basically a rolling chassis to drop my engine into, so what should i get?

Nice running Vert - $3200
Rolling chassis 1st gen - $1100

thanks guys

-Markus

"I told you all the turbo is coming...." "My goal?... 400hp"
p.s... it's gunna take awhile.. lol

I personally would get the first gen with the transmission and rear end and spend the $2100 on a turbo motor turbo standalone fuel exhaust intake etc and have a 400hp 1st gen, that would be off the hook!

You should keep your na the way it is and buy another car for the project (what i should have done)

I am confused.. Were you saying you want to make the GXL into the turbo? Because if so I would say buy the convertible and make it into the turbo. Turbo verts are amazing. I have a turbo and a vert, and if I could combine them simply, I would!

It really depends on what you want from the car. Do you want to drive a first gen? Or do you want to drive a convertible? And if the 'vert really is perfect in every way I would go ahead and buy that and just enjoy it while the motor lasts.
