Should I buy this FC!?!

Hello everyone. I have been looking for a N/A FC for a daily drive for about a month know. Ive been driving a 1986 civic, that's hit 2 trees. And I'm getting tired of it. My Tii will be done by the end of the summer if all goes well.

Well to my question. I found a 1990 N/A with about 95,000 miles on it. The car is beautiful, inside and out. The only downside is that it is an Automatic. It seems to drive fine and all the acc work. It does die if the ac is on and the car is parked. I supplied pictures below. The car is stock except for the stock air-box has been removed. Im wondering if I should buy the car, and how much do you think its worth? He was asking 3,500 for it and I talked him down to 2,800.

Oh and another thing. Maybe im just used to my Tii, but the car is gutless after 80mph. Is this do to it being and automatic?

yeah, he'd have to be paying me for it having an automatic.. I'd say that's way too high. you should be able to find a reasonable condition TII for 2,500-3000... Keep looking.

The auto makes it work $2k tops. the whole AC thing probably means the BAC valve isn't working which is kind of a pain in the ***. Just tell him that you where told that it would cost a lot to have the problem of the car dieing when parked (because it would have to be diagnosed and then the parts aren't cheap either). Tell him you'll give 1.5K because that's what it's worth. (maybe $2-2.5k if it were auto)

Dude, it's an S5. I'm going to take a guess that you'll eventually convert to MT.

How much then? Again, I'm not looking to do any racing or drifting (that's what the tii is for) . Just A to B. The motor probably has another 50,000 to 60,000 mile on it. How bad are the transmissions in these?

AT rotaries tend to have high carbon buildup because the owners never rev them out

did you compression test this thing?

as for the 80mph = gutless, im going to guess thats because its an auto but my N/A isnt that fast in anyway, so, yeah, n/a's non modified is not fast. especially my 5sp vert, lol

I don't know where you are at in texas, but i know where a running white 88 t2 is for 2500 in OK. So for about the same money (b/c of gas cost) you could get a good body running t2. BTW if you want the info on it PM me.

There was a super clean 89 TII here for sale earlier this month for $3500. Had a few minor problems, clutch, shifter bushings. But yah, an auto NA for $3500 is too much. I paid $1900 for my 90 GXL. And its in great shape.

Hey man, where in Texas are you? The gutless wonderness of it will be attributed to the automagic, and the rear end gear. It has been awhile, but didn't the autos come with a 2.81 or something like that? ugh its been too long I can't remember.

Compression is about 85 on the front rotor and close to 90 on the back rotor. So compression is pretty good. Feed it a gallon of water and watch all the carbon go away.

I will talk to him tomorrow and see if he will take $2000 for it.
