should i?
should i?
ok a buddy of mine's car just broke down
the engine has no compression and needs a rebuild
its an automatic (yea i know) 86 second gen non turbo 13b i believe
now i was contemplating... should i maybe keep the car with 240k km and a electrical problem where the taillights both dont work and its not fuses or the bulbs or should i just maybe buy the blown engine for like 200$ canadian and rebuild it and plop it into my 83 rx7 gs
it would fit correct?
i dont need to know how to hook it up or anything right now i just need some opinions from you guys
worth it or what?
if i keep the car i might be able to sell parts if i chose to use a parts car and just swap the engine

You will find a lot more help in the 1st gen section, but if the engine lost compression (ie. lost a seal) then rebuilding will be expensive due to the fact that at least one rotor housing will need to be replaced. It would be significantly cheaper just to buy a good used engine (from a wrecker).
Mazdatrix has excellant FAQs on what is required to install the 86+ 13B into the 1st gen.
