Should I *force* my engine and transmission together...?

I recently purchased an ACT 6-puck clutch kit for my Turbo II, but was having SUCH a terrible time trying to reinstall the tranny, that I simply gave up and pulled the motor.

After failing to mate the engine and tranny OUT of the car, I knew something was up... I removed my new clutch-disk and compared it to my old clutch disk. Everything *appeared* to be the same, but I couldn't get the new disk to slide over the imput shaft.

So yeah, my old disk slides onto the shaft with ease, but this new ACT doesn't want to cooperate... I mean, I can get it *started* on the shaft, but I would really have to force it.

After finding this out, I took the clutch allignment tool that came with my kit and used it as a measuring tool to see how much of a difference there was between my stock disk and my ACT disk. The difference was *barely* notable, and the allignment tool had just a tiny bit of wiggle room after being inserted into both the ACT disk and the stock disk--a little bit more wiggle with the stock disk.

So yeah, my question is what do I do? Do I try to FORCE the imput shaft through the new disk, or has anyone experienced these tight tolerances with ACT products?

Could I have the wrong clutch disk? The variance between the ACT product and my stock disk is so little that it's hard for me to make a judgement. All I know is that it's not enough to allow the disk to slide easily over the imput shaft, and I don't know what issues would arise if I used force as opposed to finesse...

Thanks,

I think you might have the wrong disk. I didnt have any troubles w/ my ACT clutch. I wouldnt force it on the disk because you still have to worry about aligning the splines on the shaft to you engine so that it'll slide in properly... Check it out first....

Yeah, I'll hit you up tomorrow and see what you're up to. F**K! This is so lame... If it's the wrong disk, then 3+ weeks have been wasted.
