if your car is One in three.you will get the VIBE that they Rant about..other than that it is one of the better shifters out there,Because the shifter is Like stock, and there is no bushings on the Bottom ball(like that of the Cheapie Miata Ebay jobbies).

Haha thanks.

Soo
eh

Worth it?

Or would it be better to go down the road of using a Miata short throw?
Any opinions?

pretty much any aftermarket shifter has the chance of rattling, nobody knows why. i simply chopped the stock shifter down and i love it, i know it's a "shortened shifter" and not a "short throw shifter" but i love it the same and everybody who sees it asks about it.

i have a mazdatrix short throw, it rattles a little but i put some gasket maker on the metal ball, makes it a little quieter also ensuring there is plenty of oil in the shift tower helps... don't really hear it until i get above 4 to 5 k wich i don't do often so it works out for me...

Well,I have Been through 5-6 shifters,Since I have owned my FC.that is almost Three years..I started off with the EBAY Miata Shifter.after I ground down the Bushing on the bottom to Get it to fit,and Farted around with it to get it to shift withgout Binding,I Said enough.I then went and got the Shifter Modified. That shifter was done to Eliminate the Pivot Pin Bushing(in the slot of the Big Ball on the shifter). That Nylon Bushing may take out Some Rattle, etc,BUT it also Wears out!.You don't see that on the Stock shifter,so That is Why I eliminated it(got it filled in withMetal..to make a Metal slot in it..instead of having a bushing there)..Then the Lower Bushing started Busting on me.It wore out,as it was Thin anyways from being sanded to Fit..that Broke the Camel's Back!..I Finally Got a Shifter that has the same size Ball on the Bottom(to go into the Shifter Block),and the upper ball is Solid, and NO bushing.THIS ONE I am Satified with..IT IS A C'S Shifter..I Got a Good Price on it,as it was used, but really, there isn't anything to Wear out on them..it's just the same as the Stock shifter,as it installs using the Lower and Upper bushing...I am Keeping this one!!. so there!..some INFO from a Guy who has been There!
