short shifters
isn't this covered on a biweekly basis? noob
And I made my shortshifter using the how-to in the archive. It works great. It did have a pretty nasty rattle when you got on it. Fixed with a couple of silicoln bushings down in the turret.
Plus I cut the shifter down as well. Your hand pretty much sits down inside the shifter bezel now-- the middle finger sits flush with the top of the bezel when wrapped around the shifter. Kinda funny, but it shifts very nicely and smoothly. And the shifts are pretty short too. I tried to get a stock looking short, but I went a little bit excessive. You can tell nothing stock was ever that short or had such a short throw... but it still looks alot better than that stock giraffe's neck with a lever arm shorter than the width of your.... little toe?

Alot of the aftermarket short shifters rattle. I just drilled the inside of the shift **** as deep as possible, and cut down the lever about 3/4", for a total of about an inch and a half. Its a little quicker to shift but mostly just looks better down low, and it cost me about 20 minutes of my time.
