Recently bought a Mazdatrix short shifter kit for my vert, but after installation the shifter is farkin' hard to shift...Is this normal? I know the pin is aligned correctly, so I don't know what could be wrong...

 

The usual problem with that shifter is that it rattles but I have never heard of it being hard to shift. Have you taken the shifter out inspected it (for wear in the short amount of time it has been in the car) and re-installed it? You might want to try that. If there is a lot of wear in one place it might be a bad casting/machined part. Mazdatrix is good about returns if it is there bad. My .02

 

a) its too tight (3 bolts)
b) have u oiled it ?
c) every shifter first installed and tightened goes hard when engine is not running, once u will take it for drive, it will go easier....
