I dont see anything wrong with the Mazdatrix shifter... well its the only one ive used.. its a little stiff, but does the job. and is a "true" short shifter..

Are all of the FC trannys so sloppy? The one I own, and one I test drove both feel like they have SO MUCH Play in them. Is this common?

it's probably the bushings that are gone.

When I bought my car, the shifter was sloppier than a 50 year old hooker. But once I replaced the bushings ($18 from Mazdatrix), it's tight as an 18 year old.

Whoa, bad analogies, but you get my point!

Kinda funny, but for once the mazda pieces are cheaper than someone else. I bought the pair for like $12-14
