The KYB AGX's are good if thats all you can afford.

Be sure to get new springs too.

I've had them for over a year now and I like them. I think a good number of people use them.

I got a set of the AGX's for about $370. I don't particularly like'em mainly b/c within each setting, there is a little bit of variable valving. I didn't spend $400 on my LINEAR RATE GC's to have my struts screw with the feel. If I did it again, I would go with Illuminas.

If you don't want to spend the extra money for Tokicos, then AGX's will probably be fine.

I don't have a problem with my AGX shocks.. I like the way they feel on my car with my spring combo. Took me a little bit to find a setting that I really liked with my springs but that's what's cool about the adjustable shocks is that you can do that.

There does seem to be a real mix on them.. people seem to either love them or hate them.. I have heard that K2RD swares by them on their race cars (another thread in here somewhere) I have also read about how they are just glorified street shocks and don't work well on the track.

I've had people tell me my car feels "soft" to them.. well they had Intrax springs.. and then I have had people, on the exact same settings, tell me my car was so stiff if felt like there were not any springs in the car.

I like the way the Tokico shocks feel too, but I don't like the way the rears adjust from the top inside the speaker pod as opposed to the AGX that adjust from underneath the car. Not a big deal once you dial it in.. but until then it would kinda suck.. the Tokico's are a LOT more too...

I got my AGX @ www.coximports.com They seem to have the lowest prices on AGX. I got my springs from www.shox.com but I hear that JCWhtiney has them for less.

Since you are talking about using stock springs then the AGX will be fine.. hell you could even just go with plain KYB non adjustible if you want to save money. I used to run KYB non adjustables on another car and I really liked them for the price.

If you want to get springs too then Racing Beat, Tokico (if you can find them) and Suspension Techniques are all around the same rates. Suspension tech springs are less than 200.00 thou so that's why I went with them.

I've got the Tokico Blues in ym car(previous owner installed them) and they are stiffer than stock but still great.

Just another one for you think about. They aren't adjustable but I think the price isn't bad as well.

If you run old worn springs with the AGX's, it may stress the struts. Especially, if you set the struts to a hard setting. Plus, you might not like the ride with worn springs/new struts.
If money is an issue, get the non adjustable KYBs (regular replacement struts/shocks) and new springs. The Eibach Pro Kit springs or Sportline would be good choices.
I've replaced just the struts on cars with high mileage and was never really happy with the ride. I'd rather have non-performance struts with new springs. Both the car and I are MUCH happier.

Sorry, missed that part.

The AGXs are great for a street driven car. I don't know how well they'd do on a track. And if money is an issue, then the regular KYBs are an excellent choice.
