Pretty sure USFreightways will do it...
If not, call Summit, see what service they use to ship their crate motors.

Just shipped one - I used ABF shipping, and had good results from them. To get a quote:

www.abfs.com, use your origin zip, destination zip, NMFC Class of 70, and 350 LBS for the weight.

You can save a good bit if you can drop the engine off at the truck terminal and have the other guy pick it up at the truck terminal. I just shipped an engine from Miami to Baltimore for $135. Dropped it off Thursday morning, and it was ready to be picked up on Tuesday Morning.

Hope this helps.

Just one more thing - that NMFC code is for a crated motor. All I did was grab a pallet, use trailer tiedowns to anchor the motor, build a frame around the motor, and cover with plywood.

Had my 13B-REW bolted to the Tranny shipped from the Washington DC area to California by Yellow. Cost around $350 shipped in a crate. The crate was built up the same way Marcuss described using a pallet and tie downs. You can ship a motor open pallet but its more expensive since the shipping company cant stack anything on it and there's more chance for damage.

I just shipped a motor from SC to OR and back for 306.00 round trip.

Code for motor shipping is 70.
www.saia.com
or search for R&L carriers.
R&L quoted me 90.00 to ship from SC to CT
Last year shipped an engine on R&L from NC to SC for 72.00

Instead of using tie-downs, use old seatbelts rolled around a short length of 2 x 4 and nail it to the pallet!
