shifting problem...hear wierd noise?
ok. i just bought a gtu and it was shifting fine when i bough it, but the driveshaft was about to break and the u joints were shot..so i had a shop replace it with one out of my old7 (driveshaft was still good hopefully). now its alot harder to put into first and i can hear the gears when i put it in. there not grinding but i can hear and feel them. this is just a thought but could they have not filled refilled the trans when they took out the driveshaft. they also replaced speedo gear? or could it also be the u joints on the driveshaft that was put in? or if its not that should i just put some redline mt-90 in and see if that makes it better?

it might be unblanced, meaning the connection to the lsd. You should feel a lot of vibration or noise from an unblance driveshaft, or it could be from ur pilot bearing; which makes the noise, but i dought it because its in the tranny. Might need to change the fluid, which makes everything feel good, but sometimes it fs it up, like what happened to my auto. I did hear that it should be ok in manule, but got to make sure dont want to make it any worse. Check the driveshaft, then fluid, or might have to rebuild or buy a new tranny. You can buy my NA for like 50 bucks but i dont think its worth it because u live so far; have no use for it got my t2.
