Shifter Bushings (Best Mod Ever)

I just put in my shifter bushings, prolly best mod ever, makes the car feel so much better. No more pos sloppy shifter

LOL did you ever drive a car with NO shifter bushings

thats how mines is (i just bought the car) geeesh its soooooo sloppy i sometimes get stuck in Netrual too

yea, mine had none, when i took the shifter off, there wasnt even remnance of the old bushings.

get em man, its so worth it.

Yeah, I must agree, screw larger turbo's or standalones, shifter bushings are where it's at! We need someone to make some metal ones that don't wear out.

dont thay makes ones that are near industructable

i remember someone telling me that he was installing some really stong ones that last really long. i might be wrong

Hmmm I need to replace mine, in neutral i can move the shifter a good 3" to each side and in some gears it still doesnt hold tight... Who makes these "Indestructable Bushings"

Mazdaspeed makes them . They are a competition part. They are backordered right now. You might be able to get one from Mazdatrix, though they may be backordered also.

this seems to be like a standered option these days on the fc because my or **** too. so where can i get any type of bushings at, and how much do they run?

ps: im sure all this info is already on the forum but hay i'll give someone something to do for a few min

to make metal ones is not that big problem, but i will have all vibration from transmission transferred to shifter....if it does not vibrate and make noise now, then it will if u will use metal ones....

how long do bushings typically last, I wouldnt mind it as a 10,000 mile mod

Higgi: I wouldn't mind some noise as much as a shifter that's about as effective as a hot dog as the shifter!

yeah when i replaced my shifters it was a whole new world.... i pretty much learned how to drive a manual in that car with no bushings....then i replaced them....
and it was SO much better
it was also easy to install....i was expecting it to be alot harder....
easy install that makes a huge difference......cant beat that with a stick
