Shifter Bushings

Does anyone know the dimensions for the shifter bushings in a manual trans? My shifter feels like it's in friggin' neutral when it's in gear, especially first. I did a search, but couldn't find dimensions. Anyways, thanks for the help.

Are you trying to make your own bushings or something? Why not just check out www.mazdatrix.com

I work at a plastic molding/machine shop and could make them in under 20 minutes. So, that was my plan. and, if there were a demand, I was thinking about selling them.

You should just buy the pieces. ITs not just plastic, there are also 2 springs that go connected to the bushings.

I respect your DIY initiative, but I agree with the other guys. bushings are one of the must-have items for your car that are (fortunately) very cheap to buy new.

at least buy one set so you can RE them in perfect detail (if it's just something you HAVE to do )

I just got my bushings and boots in the mail yesterday and plan on doing it over the weekend. It's funny comparing the new boots with what's left of the originals on there now.

do they have a kit at Mazdatrix for these? I've seen various bushings and stuff, and when I priced it all out seperately (not know exactly which I'd need and wouldn't need), it came out to about $105.

For that price, may as well get the short shifter, too...

The two kits are only a few bucks from my local dealer, which happens to be the ever popular Malloy Mazda of Woodbridge. If you add the boots into the deal, yeah, you'll come out around $100.
