Shifter bushing.

In an 88 SE the shift lever seats in a plastic cup down in
the shift control block. I have not found just the cup.
The cost of the block isn't the problem($30.). It's the installation I' trying to avoid as in dropping the transmission or some such. The original is in pieces, which why the loose shifter in the first place. Can anyone advise me. This piece is not part of the upper and lower bushing set. Thanks. MJM

I'm a bit confused...
You already got the two (upper and lower) bushings, right?
One blue and one white?
You mean the METAL parts is damaged???

See...

In the Mazdatrix example when you pull the shift lever
about half way down on righit side they show a sift lever with a white plastic cup on the shifter ball. that is what I need.Local dealer says the particular piece is part of the control tower for the 86+ and is not avialable seperatly. I can't believe this is the first and that some shop hasn't fabricated one.

Mazdatrix might sell you just that piece. You could also try a junk yard; find a junker with low miles and you're in luck.

Thank you. Lets cancel the thread. Mazdarix says that 86/92 in the US do not have that piece. If I have one in an 88 which I do, I'm SOL. It is a Japanese transmission
and the parts are not available. I got this car ten years ago and never had a problem with the trans.so they did it well and my guy will fabricate something. Thanks.
