shifter bluz

been wondering about this one-
88 na with a hi-flow cat
with the windows rolled up and the sunroof closed everything is fine
open the windows or sunroof, or both, the shifter/shifter boot gets hot... and not just warm to the touch hot, but hot! hot (yeah i can hear it now "what the hell kinda crack is this guy smokin?")
anyone else get this? or how to get rid of it?

thanks all!

p.s. a sports car has TWO doors! nuff said- the rx-8 looks cool but please, for the love of all things fast and smokes tires bring back the 3rd gen! just my 2 cents

you have your heat shields on underneath? What about the shifter boots (all 3 of them)? How do they look? Any cracks?

And I totally agree with you on the rx-8.

Mine got real hot too until I changed the bushings. Those inner boots make a big difference. It's cool now.
