my shift lever is ver loose any ideals what the problem is

look up replacing Shifter Bushings..you may be able to See a video(I think..not sure) on www.mazdatrix.com website...If not that is the site to buy New bushings anyhow,so all is not lost!..changing them is rather easy..pop the Shifter Surround off with a flathead screwdriver,Lift the Rubber out of the road and take the 3 10mm bolts out..Pull the shifter Straight up..there should be TWO bushings.one lower and one between teh shifter ans the Top "plate" of the Shifter assembly(that thing with the three holes,around the shifter)..If you don't see TWO bushings(the other one,The LOWER bushing should be in The hole at the bottom) then you Need Bushings..GOOD LUCK!..STYX.
